Community Dog Pawty!

Today was the second annual community Dog Pawty at Fort Scott Park! LDCRF was invited to attend so a couple of us got up early this Sunday to introduce the community to a few of our fabulous dogs looking for homes! Our adoptable doggies included Jack the beagle, Strom the cattle dog, and Precious the chihuahua!

It was quite a party! There were games, snacks, and fancy treats... But more importantly there were happy puppies everywhere! We caught up with some LDCRF alums and talked to lots of people looking for a future furry buddy.

There was even a fancy water bar for the pups, including varieties of sparkling and flat water.

After a lot of fun and treats it was time to say goodbye! So we headed out to an adoption event and guess what?! Both Jack and Precious found homes today!!! Strom is still looking if anyone is interested in getting an awesome friend!

Not Enough Black Kittens?!

For the first time ever tonight, I had more families wanting to adopt my black kittens than I had kittens to give them! Black kitties are notoriously difficult to get adopted, which is the reason that I decided to pull this litter of all black kittens in the first place. My Lucky Charms were in high demand and I actually had to redirect some families to other available kittens.

Why so much demand for these particular black kittens? Every adopter knew them from their blog which is jam packed with stories, pictures, and videos highlighting each kitten's individual personality. They also love puppies, which is a big plus! Social media offers a unique opportunity for us to showcase what is wonderful and special about every adoptable animal. It is one of the strongest tools we have to increase adoptions.

All four of my Lucky Charms kittens have found their forever homes and now it's time to start blogging about the next match of kittens. I can't wait to meet them!
