Bully Baskets

I approached LDCRF about doing an event to celebrate Pit Bull Awareness Day and all of our love-a-bulls. I made posters and we advertised the event in volunteer emails and on our Facebook page. I received a lot of support from the volunteers and we set out to find our pitties homes!

I gathered donations and created "Bully Baskets" for our adoptable pit bull blends filled with toys, treats, a heart-warming bestseller “Wallace”, coupons, and a free training consult.

I dressed up the pups in "A Lover, not a Fighter" bandanas available at discount to rescues at the Dog Perk. We set up big posters and provided educational information from Animal Farm and giveaways from My Pit Bull is Family and Hello Bully. People passing by the adoption event stopped to tell me that they learned something about pit bulls and BSL, which made my weekend. The event was a hit and three of our five pit bull blends have found homes!

ACES Conference

I was very lucky to be able to attend my first ACES conference in San Diego this past week. I learned a lot about the business of saving lives and had a great time. We toured the Helen Woodward Animal Center, attended fabulous talks about animal welfare, and we were able to go on a behind the scenes tour at Sea World where I got to pet a baby penguin!
